Honouring excellence in paediatrics
The CPS Awards Program honours Canadians who have achieved excellence in paediatric practice, advocacy, research, education and teaching, and health promotion. Criteria and sumission requirements vary for each award, so please review each carefully before submitting a nomination.
The nomination deadline is January 31, unless otherwise indicated. Online submission is preferred, however nominations can be forwarded by mail.
Lifetime achievement in paediatrics
Alan Ross Award For lifelong excellence in paediatric research, education, health care and advocacy.
Advocacy on behalf of children and youth
Victor Marchessault Advocacy Award Honours an individual or organization who has made an outstanding contribution to Canada’s children and youth at the local, provincial, or national level.
Paediatric research
Young Investigator Award Recognizes basic or clinical research accomplishments of a young investigator in fields that benefit child and youth health.
Geoffrey C. Robinson Award For outstanding contributions to child and youth health through population health or health services research.
Career Research Award Recognizes the career of an outstanding and accomplished researcher working on an aspect of paediatric research in Canada.
Education and teaching
Michel Weber Education Award Recognizing an individual whose career in medical and/or inter-professional education has had a significant and positive impact on learners in child and youth health.
Emerging Leader in Neonatology Award The Emerging Leader in Neonatology Award recognizes the achievements or initiatives of neonatologists early in their professional career.
Contributions to the Canadian Paediatric Society
Life Membership Awarded to CPS members who have made exceptional contributions to the Society over a long period of time.
