Professional Education
The Canadian Paediatric Society’s professional development program supports the lifelong learning needs of paediatricians, paediatric subspecialists, paediatric residents and other child health professionals helping them provide the best health care to Canada’s children and youth.
Group Learning
CPS provides a variety of live opportunities, both in person and virtually, for physicians to earn annual MOC requirements. These include our Annual Conference, regional Lifelong Learning in Paediatrics courses, Grand Rounds, and the International Meeting on Indigenous Child Health.
Self-Directed Learning
Pedagogy is a dedicated online learning portal with 1-hour modules, a question-based self-assessment program, Test Your Knowledge, and the Education Program for Immunization Competencies (EPIC). Other self-directed tools include case-based clinical podcasts and the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Pediatrics Review and Education Program (PREP®).
Maintenance of Certification
As an accredited provider for the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, CPS accredits continuing professional development activities from other organizations, in addition to offering a variety of educational opportunities and support for physicians to meet the annual MOC requirements.
Neonatal Life Support Programs
Neonatal Resuscitation Program and Acute-Care of at-Risk Newborns help bridge the gap between what we know from research and evidence and what we do in practice.
Resident Education
These resident training curricula are available to CPS members only: Indigenous child and youth health, Global Child Health, Healthy Active Living, and the Assessment and Treatment of Disruptive Behaviour in Youth.
